25th Anniversary Beach Head

Beachhead has been one of my favourite characters that has been given the 25th Anniversary Treatment. He represented what troopers should have been in the first place. Green.

His design has been influential in releasing other great 25A characters like Firefly.


Beach Head may look plain but I commend the choice of Olive Green paint. Less faithful to the original but personally preferable to plain green. Unfortunately, the light brown & Olive Green splotches did not offer much contrast.

Obviously, this is meant to imply the 75th Ranger Regiment. The comic pack Beach Head has a better paintjob as the shoulder patch, as well as, the camo splotches are clearly visible.
The 75th patch on the first Beach Head is almost invisible and, therefore, good for customs.

The detail is finer and less bulky.
Consistently, comic pack Beach Head is a marked improvement in choice of accessories, minus the backpack and crossbow. Of course, this is addressed in the Hall of Fame Beach Head version.

The modular vest is a modern homage to the original vest. While this is a major improvement, it is something I consider only good for the current Beach Head.

I could, probably, modify it with the pouches I am manufacturing. The existing submachine gun pouches can be re-used. More on this at a later date.

For customizing purposes, I would prefer the first Beach Head. His pullover is the colour I seek, his vest is generic enough to be issued to almost anyone, and the paint job is not strong enough to affect repainting.
Especially with my upcoming projects, I will definitely need natural Olive Green.

This does not mean, however, I will discontinue getting comic pack Beach Head. The removable 2nd head, Balaclava, and included Mainframe is a big plus, as it is.

Either way, these are good action figures I carry with me almost everyday.
Now, if I can just get a better camera…
